The Queensland Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian recently released their latest report in the annual Snapshot series – Snapshot 2013: Children and Young People in Queensland.
The report collates information from a variety of sources and across a range of issues to provide a contemporary representation of the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people in Queensland. Information is sourced from state and federal government agencies and the non-government and community sectors.
The report covers a broad range of issues affecting children and young people, including (but not limited to):
- Homelessness
- Frequency of types of illicit drug use
- Births and families
- Sexual knowledge and activity
- School retention
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander disadvantage
- Child protection
- CALD
- Disability
